Our
Mid-Sized One Bedroom Cabins
The first two
cabins to be built ~ about 1936-1937 ~ each of
these cabins features a stone fireplace in the
living room, log rafters and beautiful knotty
pine vaulted ceiling, planked walls, one large
bedroom with two full-sized beds (in hand-made
bedframes), and a kitchen with rustic cabinets
and a built-in dining area.
The bedroom has windows on three sides (12 in
all) that provide a great view of the lake that's
just about 75 feet down the hill behind the cabins.
Built long before air conditioning, these cabins
feature unique drop-down "pocket" windows
for maximum ventilation, and the bedroom is similar
to the sleeping porches common to Southern homes
in the early 1900's.
Today, of course,
these cabins have central heat and air conditioning,
gas logs in the fireplaces, large TV with VCR,
and other modern amenities. They're perfect for
a couple or a family with small children, and
are a favorite with honeymooners as well.
Cabins # 1
and # 2 are virtually identical, with a slightly
different living room layout. If you'd like, you
can take two "virtual tours" of Cabin
# 2 to get a better idea of the unique rustic
charm of these retreats.
These cabins
rent for $100 per night, plus tax, with a two night
minimum. Price includes "breakfast fixins"
~ we stock the refrigerator for your breakfast
with eggs, bacon, English muffins, cinnamon rolls,
milk, and orange juice, and also provide regular
and decaf coffee for the coffeemaker. (There is
a small additional charge for more than 4 guests
and for pets.)
